Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 27

Over the past day, December 26, there were 258 combat engagements on the front line. Russian forces are attacking on almost all directions, with the highest intensity on the Pokrovsk direction, according to the daily briefing of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, yesterday the enemy carried out one missile strike and 65 airstrikes, using one missile and dropping 174 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces conducted 3,130 shelling attacks, including 115 using multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 3,624 loitering munition drones.
The aggressor carried out airstrikes, in particular, on the city of Kharkiv; the settlements of Prosiana and Pokrovske in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Ternuvate, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Vozdvyzhivka, and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; and Odradokamianka in the Kherson region.
Over the past day, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces struck two areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment, as well as one other important enemy target.
Situation on the directions
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, three enemy attacks were recorded over the past day. The enemy carried out two airstrikes, dropping four guided aerial bombs, and conducted 97 shelling attacks, including one using a multiple launch rocket system.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian defensive positions nine times near Vovchanski Khutory, Prylipky, Starytsia, and toward the settlements of Vilcha and Izbytske.
In the Kupiansk direction, 12 combat engagements took place yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assault actions in the areas of Pishchane, Kruhliakivka, and toward Petropavlivske, Novoplatonivka, and Kupiansk.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 33 times, attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses near Hrekivka, Novovodiane, Novoiehorivka, Novoselivka, Kopanky, Kolodiazi, Serednie, Ridkodub, Karpivka, Zarichne, and toward the settlements of Lyman and Drobyshcheve.
In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled eight enemy offensive actions in the areas of Siversk and Dronivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled three attacks near Minkivka and toward Virolubivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 25 attacks near the settlements of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 63 enemy assault actions near the settlements of Shakhove, Pankivka, Nykanorivka, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, and Dachne.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy carried out 21 attacks near Zelenyi Hai, Yalta, Tovste, Sichneve, Verbove, Vyshneve, Vorone, and Rybne.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 31 enemy attempts to advance near Varvarivka, Solodke, and Huliaipole.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian units stopped nine enemy attacks near Mali Shcherbaky, Stepnohirsk, Stepove, and Mala Tokmachka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, no combat engagements were recorded over the past day.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of enemy offensive group formations were detected.
Russia's losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 1,203,310 military personnel.
Enemy losses over the past day alone amounted to 1,240 personnel.
Ukrainian forces also destroyed five tanks, 19 armored combat vehicles, 33 artillery systems, 205 unmanned aerial vehicles, 158 units of automotive equipment, and one heavy flamethrower system.
