Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of Оctober 9

Since the beginning of the day on October 9, there have been 132 combat clashes on the front. Russian occupation forces are focusing their main attacks on the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian troops repelled two enemy attacks, and one more clash is still ongoing.
The invaders’ aviation carried out 10 airstrikes, dropping 28 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy conducted 80 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched 16 attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Stroivka, Zapadne, Dovhenke, and toward Dvorichanske, Kolodiazne, and Bologivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled four enemy attacks in the area of Stepova Novoselivka, Kupyansk, and Ivanivka. Two more combat clashes are ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the invading army launched nine attacks today on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Pershotravneve, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, Novoselivka, and toward Stavky. Two combat clashes are still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, Russian units made eight attempts to advance on Ukrainian positions near Yampil, Serebrianka, Novoselivka, Vyimka, and Pereizne. One clash is still ongoing. The enemy also struck Sloviansk with guided aerial bombs.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attempted offensive actions twice in the area of Chasiv Yar and Orikhovo-Vasylivka. Kramatorsk suffered an airstrike.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy made ten attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses in the areas of Bila Hora, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, Poltavka, and toward Pleshchiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian occupation forces have made 43 attempts to push Ukrainian forces from their positions in the areas of Volodymyrivka, Novotoretske, Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Sukhetske, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Novoserhiivka, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Kotliarivka, Orikhove, and Filiia. The Defense Forces are holding their positions and have already repelled 35 attacks.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped four enemy assaults, and seven clashes are still ongoing. The enemy is trying to advance in the areas of Maliivka, Komyshuvakha, Olhivka, and toward Filiia and Novoivanivka.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks near Stepove and toward Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, there have been three unsuccessful enemy assault attempts on Ukrainian positions.
Russian losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost approximately 1,119,390 troops.
In particular, 1,020 Russian soldiers were eliminated in the past day alone. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 1 tank, 1 armored combat vehicle, 15 artillery systems, 328 drones, and other enemy equipment.
