As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time on July 5, a total of 170 combat engagements had been recorded on the front lines since the beginning of the day. Nearly a third of them occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian strikes

Over the day, Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 51 airstrikes, using two missiles and dropping 92 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, they deployed 1,376 Shahed-type drones and launched 4,805 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

Frontline updates

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled 21 Russian assault attempts. The Russians also launched seven airstrikes, dropping 18 guided bombs, and conducted 256 shelling attacks, including six using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces launched three assaults near Vovchansk and in the direction of Ambarne. Airstrikes hit Vovchanski Khutory, Okhrimivka, Zybine, Prykolotne, and Khatnie.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops carried out offensive actions near Holubivka, Kindrashivka, Kolodiazi, Zahryzove, Zelenyi Hai, and toward Kupiansk. Ukrainian defenders repelled eight attacks.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked 33 times near Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Karpivka, Zelena Dolyna, Novyi Myr, Ridkodub, Myrne, Torske, and Hryhorivka.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian assaults near Verkhniokamianske, Hryhorivka, and Ivano-Darivka; one assault is still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, five Russian attacks were repelled near Bila Hora, Chasiv Yar, and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched six assaults on Ukrainian positions near Toretsk, Dyliivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Bila Hora. All attacks were successfully repelled.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian forces made 51 attempts to advance on Ukrainian positions near Poltavka, Malynivka, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Shevchenko, Razyne, Orikhove, Dachne, Zvirrove, Udachne, Novosergiivka, Muravka, Novopavlivka, Oleksiivka, and toward Volodymyrivka, Serhiivka, Filiia, and Pokrovsk. Airstrikes targeted Pokrovsk and Sukhyi Yar.

"According to preliminary data, 135 Russian troops were neutralized in this direction today, 85 of them irreversibly. Ukrainian forces also destroyed one armored vehicle, three vehicles, five motorcycles, seven UAVs, and damaged another vehicle, two motorcycles, and a Russian UAV antenna," the report states.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces attempted 15 assaults near Zirka, Tolstoi, Voskresenka, Zaporizhzhia, Shevchenko, and Novopil. Two engagements are still ongoing.

In the Hulyaipole direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions eight times near Malynivka. Four engagements are still ongoing. Bilohiria was targeted with unguided aerial rockets.

In the Orikhiv direction, five attacks were launched on Ukrainian positions near Kamianske.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian troops repelled one Russian assault. The village of Olhivka was hit by an airstrike.

No significant changes in other directions.

Previous day's frontline activity

On July 4, a total of 183 combat engagements were recorded across the front. The most intense fighting took place in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Northern-Slobozhanskyi directions.
