Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 25

There were 211 clashes on the front lines over the past day. Russian forces have once again intensified their attacks in the east, with the Pokrovsk direction remaining the most active area, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past day, aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck 11 areas of enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment concentration, one command post, and 11 other important enemy targets.
Situation on the fronts
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted twice to breach the defense lines of the defenders near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were 14 attacks by the invaders yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assaults near Pisky, Dvorichna, Hlushkivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, Zelenyi Hay, and Zahryzivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 16 attacks. They attempted to infiltrate the defenses near the settlements of Novoehorivka, Novoliubivka, Kopanky, Zelena Dolyna, and Torske.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers launched 43 attacks in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Stupochky, Vasiukivka, Novomarkove, and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 20 attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Krymske, Dylivka, Leonidivka, and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, defenders stopped 88 enemy assaults towards the settlements of Vodiane Druhe, Baranivka, Myroliubivka, Myrnohrad, Shevchenko, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelenyi Hai, Pokrovsk, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Kotlyne, Novoelizavetivka, Uspenivka, Sribne, Andriivka, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy carried out three attacks towards Kostiantynopil.
In the Orikhiv direction, occupation forces launched four assaults on Defense Forces positions near Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka.
The Defense Forces are making efforts to prevent the enemy's advance deeper into Ukrainian territory and successfully repelled three enemy offensive actions in the Prydniprovskyi direction.
In the Siversk and Huliaipole directions, the enemy did not carry out active operations over the past day.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, there were no signs of enemy offensive groupings being formed.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue operations in the Kursk region. Over the past day, the enemy launched 38 airstrikes, dropping 50 KABs, and conducted 436 shelling attacks, including 15 from MLRS. Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 enemy assault actions.
Tensions in Velyka Novosilka
Velyka Novosilka is a settlement in Donetsk Oblast, where the frontline has advanced closer. Heavy fighting continues in the area of the settlement.
Earlier, the Khortytsia operational and tactical group of troops reported that there is no complete encirclement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Velyka Novosilka, but there is a threat of operational encirclement.
The Defense Forces clarified that they are working to prevent breakthroughs in defense and encirclements, while also developing plans for various scenarios.
