As of 10 PM (according to the Kyiv time zone) on September 12, the front lines have recorded 122 combat encounters over the past day, with 48 occurring in the Kurakhove direction, according to the evening report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian shelling

Today, Russian troops launched a missile strike on Ukrainian territory with an Iskander-M missile, conducted 59 airstrikes (dropping 81 KABs), and deployed 751 kamikaze drones. Additionally, the opponent carried out 3,391 shellings of Ukrainian military positions and settlements.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops unsuccessfully attempted to attack the Vovchansk area three times during the day.

Eight times, the enemy assaulted Ukrainian military positions in the Kupiansk direction, in the areas of Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, and Lozova. Fighting near Stelmakhivka continues.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attempted to advance six times in the areas of Nevske and Druzhlyubivka. Ukrainian defenders are holding their ground firmly, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy conducted five attacks, focusing their efforts on the area around Verkhniokamianske. Two engagements are still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses near Chasiv Yar and the settlement of Stupochky. The situation remains under Ukrainian control.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attacked five times with air support near Toretsk, Nelipivka, and the area of New York. Two engagements are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, combat intensity remains high. The number of engagements has risen to 32. Russian troops continue to press on Ukrainian positions near Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Zelene Pole, Novotroyitske, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Selydove, and Mykhailivka.

"Our defenders have repelled 28 attacks so far. The enemy focused their efforts today around Hrodivka and Novohrodivka, where approximately 50 percent of all encounters occurred. Preliminary enemy losses amount to 377 killed and wounded Russian troops. Additionally, one tank, two armored combat vehicles, three artillery systems, and ten vehicles were destroyed, with another three tanks and four artillery systems damaged," the General Staff reported.

In the Kurakhove direction, 48 combat encounters of varying intensity have been recorded. Russian troops most actively attempted to advance in the areas of Kostiantynivka and Heorhiivka, where about 75 percent of all battles occurred. The enemy also attacked Ukrainske, Oleksandropil, and Zhelanne Pershe.

"Preliminary enemy losses in this direction include 105 killed and wounded Russian troops. Two tanks, 11 armored combat vehicles, and two vehicles were destroyed, with one additional tank and 11 BMPs damaged," the General Staff noted.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops with air support, assaulted the frontline defense of Ukrainian forces five times in the areas of Vodiane and Zolota Nyva. Ukrainian soldiers halted three enemy assaults, with two more battles ongoing.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, six enemy attempts to seize Ukrainian positions have failed.

The General Staff emphasized that the Defense Forces continue to repel the Russian troops' offensive. Notably, the 46th Separate Air Mobile Brigade and the 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradsky were commended for courageously holding their positions, skillfully repelling enemy attacks, and inflicting significant losses on Russian troops.

It is noted that on September 11-12, Russia lost approximately 1,270 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Overall, enemy losses since the beginning of the full-scale war exceed 630,000 soldiers, 18,000 artillery systems, and 15,000 drones.
