Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 6

Over the last day, 50 combat engagements were registered on the frontline. At the same time, Ukrainian aviation struck 14 areas where enemy personnel and weapons were concentrated, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
In total, the enemy launched 8 missile and 83 air strikes, fired 37 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas.
Situation at the frontlines
The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.
The enemy conducted air strikes in the areas of Rodionivka, Sumy region; Ogirtseve, Kozacha Lopan, Lyptsi, Kutuzivka, Kharkiv region. About 20 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks, including Liskivshchyna, Mykhalchyna Sloboda in Chernihiv region; Mohrytsia, Nova Huta, Bilovody in Sumy region; Kozacha Lopan, Veterynarne, Strilecha, Krasne in Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions, but conducted air strikes in the areas of Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Borova in Kharkiv region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kotlyarivka in Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, our soldiers repelled seven enemy attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defense of our troops. More than 10 localities suffered from artillery and mortar attacks, including Nevske in Luhansk region and Terny, Yampolivka, Torske in Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 10 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Vyymka, Spirne, Bohdanivka, Klishchiyivka, Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation.
The enemy also conducted air strikes near the settlements of Sloviansk, Verkhnekamianske and Hryhorivka in Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Kalynivka and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled five attacks near Novokalynove, Berdychi and Netaylove in Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to force our units out of their positions. The enemy also carried out air strikes in the areas of Kalynove, Novoselivka Persha, Selydove, Arkhangelske, Berdychi, Semenivka, Ocheretyno, Skuchne in Donetsk region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Semenivka, Nevelske in Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka, where the enemy tried to break through the defense of our troops 16 times. The enemy launched air strikes near Krasnohorivka and Urozhayne in the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region.
In the Orikhiv direction the enemy, with the support of aviation, carried out two attacks on the positions of our defenders near Staromayorske, Donetsk region, and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy also launched an air strike in the area of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Chervone, Bilohirya, Novodanylivka, Shcherbaky in Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy does not abandon its intention to drive our units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the day, the enemy made two unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops. More than 10 settlements came under enemy fire, including Nikopol in Dnipro region; Kherson, Zmiivka, Krynky, Tyahyntsi in Kherson region.
Strikes against the Russians
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck 14 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 1 enemy anti-aircraft missile system.
Missile troops struck 2 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, 1 UAV control center, and 1 enemy electronic warfare station.
According to the General Staff, Russia's most massive attempt to break through the Ukrainian defense line has been made in the Avdiivka sector in recent days. However, the Sicheslav paratroopers repelled the invaders, inflicting significant losses on them.
