Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 26

Ukrainian defenders have inflicted significant losses on Russian occupiers in the left-bank part of the Kherson region. In the process, aviation targeted 5 enemy anti-aircraft missile complexes, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Over the past day, there have been 76 combat engagements. The enemy launched 1 missile and conducted 19 airstrikes, with 30 bombardments from multiple rocket launcher systems targeting our military positions and civilian areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population due to these Russian terrorist attacks. Private residences and other civilian infrastructure have suffered destruction and damage.
The situation on the frontlines
On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged with no significant alterations. There are no indications of the formation of offensive groups. Identified units of the Belarusian armed forces are carrying out tasks in the border areas with Ukraine.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske fronts, the enemy keeps being present in the border regions and engages in sabotage-reconnaissance activities.
An enemy aircraft struck the area near the settlement of Varvariivka in the Kharkiv region. Over 20 populated areas, including Archipivka, Bleshnia, Horsk (the Chernihiv region), Volfyne, Riasne, Volodymyrivka (the Sumy region), Udy, Vovchansk, Ambarne (the Kharkiv region), underwent artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 enemy attacks in the areas of Synkivka and northeast of Petropavlivka in the Kharkiv region. Occupiers conducted an aerial strike near Sobolivka in the Kharkiv region.
Close to 10 populated areas, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (the Kharkiv region), came under artillery and mortar fire.
On the Lyman front, Ukrainian forces repelled 11 enemy attacks in the areas of the Serebrianske forestry (the Luhansk region) and Veseloye (the Donetsk region), where the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to breach our troops' defense.
Additionally, invaders carried out aerial strikes in the areas of the populated settlements of Bilohorivka (the Luhansk region) and Dibrova (the Donetsk region).
Over 10 populated areas, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (the Luhansk region), and Serebrianka, Verkhniokamianske, Rozdolivka (the Donetsk region), suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Bakhmut front, Defense Forces repelled 3 enemy attacks near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Close to 10 populated areas, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and New York (the Donetsk region), came under artillery and mortar fire.
On the Avdiivka front, our defenders repelled 10 enemy attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, and another 13 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
Approximately 10 populated areas, including Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, Severske, and Pervomaiske (the Donetsk region), underwent enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Maryinka front, the Defense Forces continue to restrain the enemy in the areas of Novomykhailivka and Pobieda in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with aviation support, carried out 5 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our defenders.
Additionally, the enemy conducted an aerial strike in the area of the settlement of Oleksandropil in the Donetsk region. Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka were under the artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.
On the Shakhtarsk front, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions but shelled about 10 populated areas, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Staromykolaivka (the Donetsk region), with artillery and mortars.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, the Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks west of Verbovo and Robotine in the Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to displace our units from their positions.
Approximately 20 populated areas, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Robotine, and Pyatyhatky (the Zaporizhzhia region), underwent enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Kherson front, Tyahynka, Mykilske, Sadove, Kherson, and Stanislav (the Kherson region) suffered enemy artillery shelling. Additionally, the enemy conducted an aerial strike in the area of the settlement of Krymka in the Kherson region.
Situation on the left bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region
The enemy persists in its intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro. In the past 24 hours, the enemy attempted 12 unsuccessful assault actions, encountering strong resistance and suffering significant losses.
Our units maintain a resilient defense, holding their positions and delivering effective counterfire against the enemy.
Strikes on Russian forces
Over the past 24 hours, the Defense Forces' aviation conducted strikes on 4 areas where the enemy's personnel, weaponry, and military equipment are concentrated.
Rocket forces units targeted 4 areas with concentrations of enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, hitting 2 ammunition depots and 3 anti-aircraft missile complexes.
It is worth noting that yesterday, on December 25, within a day, occupiers lost 1010 soldiers in Ukraine.
