Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 6

During this day, there have been 83 military clashes on the front line in Ukraine. The defense forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region and inflict losses on Russian occupiers, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
Russian shelling
During the day, Russian invaders conducted 2 missile and 71 aviation strikes, launching 65 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launchers on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and civilian areas.
As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged and destroyed.
The situation on the frontlines
The operational situation on the eastern and southern fronts of Ukraine remains difficult.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged. There are no signs of the formation of advancing enemy groups. Identified units of the Belarusian armed forces are performing tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, fires on populated areas from Russian territory, and increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border of Ukraine.
The enemy conducted an aviation strike in the area of Krasnyi Khutir, Chernihiv region. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy affected approximately 40 populated areas, including Plokhyv, Mykhailchyna Sloboda in the Chernihiv region; Chuikivka, Prohres, Baranivka in the Sumy region; Zemlianky, Kruhle, Okhrimivka, Bochkove in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled six enemy attacks in the Sinkyvka area of the Kharkiv region. The adversary conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Sinkyvka, Ivanivka, and Pisky in the Kharkiv region. Approximately 10 populated areas, including Fiholivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Tabaiivka, Krokhmalne, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian forces repelled six enemy attacks, supported by aviation, attempting to displace Ukrainian units from the occupied positions in the areas of Ternive, Veseloye, Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region. Additionally, the adversary conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Spyrne in the Donetsk region. About 15 populated areas, including Novokalynove, Berdychiv, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Netaylove, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault actions near Ivanivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Over 10 populated areas, including Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka, Ivanivka, Klishchiivka, and New York in the Donetsk region, were subjected to artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 29 enemy attacks in the areas east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sverdne, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian forces. Additionally, the adversary conducted an aviation strike in the area of Oleksandrivka in the Donetsk region. Over 15 populated areas, including Novokalyinove, Berdychiv, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Netaylove, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian forces continue to restrain the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where the adversary, supported by aviation, carried out 13 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders. The towns of Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Heorhiivka, Pobeda, Paraskoviivka, and Katerynivka in the Donetsk region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, defenders repelled an enemy attack in the area of Novodonec'ke in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Urozhaine, Staromayorske, and Rivnopil in the Donetsk region. Over 15 populated areas, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Niva, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attacks in the areas west of Verbovyy and Robitnyk in the Zaporizhzhia region. Over 25 populated areas, including Charivne, Novodanilivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, Kamianske, and Pivdenny in the Zaporizhzhia region, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kherson direction, the adversary conducted aviation strikes in the area of the settlement of Krynkа in the Kherson region. The city of Kherson and Veleteniske in the Mykolaiv region experienced enemy artillery shelling.
Advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The defense forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region and continue to inflict fire damage on the enemy.
Enemy losses
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces delivered 11 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, 1 on the command post, and 3 on anti-aircraft missile complexes of the enemy.
