Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 30

Ukrainian troops are continuing their defensive operations in the east and south of the country, while also conducting offensive operations in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions. Approximately 60 combat engagements have taken place in the past 2 hours, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Enemy attacks
During the past day, the enemy carried out 1 missile strike and 88 airstrikes, along with 70 artillery shelling attacks using rocket artillery systems on our positions and civilian areas. Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties among the civilian population, and private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged and destroyed.
Furthermore, during the night of October 30, the enemy launched another aerial attack on Ukraine, deploying 12 combat drones of the Shahed-136/131 type. All 12 enemy drones were successfully intercepted and neutralized by Ukrainian air defense systems.
The following areas were hit by air strikes: Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Novoosynove, Pishchane in Kharkiv region; Serebrianske forestry, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Novoselivka, Verkhnekamianske, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Kurdiumivka, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Zolota Nyva, Staromaiorske in Donetsk region; Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia region; Vesele, Odradokamianka, Tyahyntsi, Ivanivka in Kherson region.
Over 100 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the responsibility zone of the North operational-strategic group on the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains largely unchanged.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas and conducts active subversive activities to prevent the redeployment of our forces to critical areas, increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the responsibility zone of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group on the Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Synkivka and Ivanivka, Kharkiv region, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 enemy attacks.
On the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an enemy attack southeast of Terniv, Donetsk region.
On the Bakhmut direction, the enemy attempted unsuccessfully to regain lost ground near Andriivka. In turn, Ukrainian defense forces continue offensive operations south of Bakhmut, inflicting losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment and consolidating their achieved positions.
In the responsibility zone of the Tavria operational-strategic group on the Avdiivka direction, the enemy persists in its attempts to encircle Avdiivka. However, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold the line, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. The enemy's offensive actions in the areas of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Opytne, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful. Ukrainian soldiers repelled over 10 enemy attacks in this area.
On the Maryinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where Ukrainian troops repelled 20 enemy attacks.
On the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an enemy attack south of Vuhledar, Donetsk region.
On the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy attempted to regain lost ground in the area of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, but was unsuccessful.
Simultaneously, Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment and wearing down the enemy along the entire frontline.
In the responsibility zone of the Odesa operational-strategic group on the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers are engaged in counter-battery warfare, delivering effective fire strikes on enemy rear areas.
Enemy losses
In the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces' aviation conducted 16 airstrikes on enemy personnel, equipment, and military technology concentration areas.
The missile troops units targeted 6 areas with enemy personnel, equipment, and military technology, as well as a command post, 3 anti-aircraft missile complexes, and 6 artillery systems of the enemy.
