Russia strikes Odesa region at night, damaging homes and port in deadly attack

Russian occupation forces carried out another drone attack on civilian and port infrastructure in Ukraine's Odesa region on the night of May 3. There are confirmed fatalities and injuries, according to Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper.
"The enemy continues to strike civilian and port infrastructure in Odesa region. Unfortunately, two people were killed and five were injured. My sincere condolences to the families and loved ones," Kiper said.
In Odesa district, enemy drones hit three residential buildings, while two more were damaged.
Structures and equipment at port infrastructure facilities were also damaged.

The fires that broke out have now been extinguished by emergency services. All relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack.
Law enforcement agencies are documenting another set of war crimes committed by the Russian army against civilians in Odesa region.
Attacks on Ukraine
As a reminder, on the night of May 3, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M missile system ballistic missile and 268 strike drones. Ukraine’s air defense forces managed to intercept the majority of enemy UAVs.
At the same time, a ballistic missile strike and 19 strike drones were recorded hitting 15 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at one location.
On the evening of May 2, explosions were heard in Kyiv. Air defense systems were active as the city came under Russian drone attack.
In addition, earlier that day, from morning until 6:00 p.m., Russia launched 227 drones against Ukraine. Of those, 200 were shot down by air defense forces.
Russian forces also carried out a mass drone attack on Kharkiv in the morning, striking residential buildings and gas stations, leaving people injured.
