On the morning of Tuesday, January 21, the Russian army launched a drone strike on the city of Kharkiv. The consequences of the strike are currently being clarified, according to Kharkiv's mayor, Ihor Terekhov.

“We have preliminary information about a UAV strike on the city in the Shevchenkivskyi district, probably by Molniya. We are now clarifying the location of the strike and the consequences,” Terekhov wrote.

As of 11:35 a.m. Kyiv time, Terekhov clarified that the strike hit an area of dense residential buildings.

“A garage was preliminarily destroyed, several cars were damaged, and windows were smashed in the houses around. According to the available information, there were no casualties,” he said.

As of 11:40 a.m. Kyiv time, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that Russia attacked the city with Shahed drone.

“As a result of Russian Shahed strike, garages were damaged, one was destroyed, one car and the windows of a dormitory were damaged,” he wrote.

As of noon Kyiv time, Terekhov said that one person with an acute stress reaction had turned to doctors.

Russia strikes Kharkiv

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the city of Kharkiv has been under constant Russian fire. Russians are attacking the city with missiles, bombs, and drones.

Russians attacked Kharkiv with a Molniya drone on January 9. At that time, the strike hit a civilian enterprise in the Nemyshlyanskyi district of Kharkiv.
