In the early hours of July 2, Russian forces launched a kamikaze drone attack on the Izmail district of the Odesa region. The strike caused damage to local infrastructure.

According to the Izmail District State Administration, the Vylkove territorial community came under attack by Shahed-type drones.

"Despite active work by air defense forces, which shot down part of the drones, the attack resulted in damage to port and tourist infrastructure," the administration stated.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Previous attacks on Izmail district

Russian forces have repeatedly targeted the Izmail district in the Odesa region.

For example, on the night of January 17, the port infrastructure in the district was also attacked. While no casualties were reported, the strike damaged building facades and a residential house.

On January 29, the district was targeted again, with drone strikes hitting port facilities. No one was killed or injured in that incident either, but buildings sustained damage.
