Russia strikes firefighters battling fire at Nizhyn plant

The Russians carried out a massive drone attack on Nizhyn in the Chernihiv region. Rescue workers extinguishing a fire at an enterprise came under attack, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Chaus, report.
On the evening of September 14, the enemy struck several times at a private enterprise dealing with fuel materials and the neighboring gas station.
During the firefighting operation, Russian troops struck the site again, injuring four State Emergency Service employees.
The firefighters were hospitalized and remain in the hospital.
"The Russians deliberately struck the rescuers who were extinguishing a fire at a critical infrastructure facility that ignited as a result of a UAV attack in Nizhyn district, Chernihiv region," the State Emergency Service reported.
In addition, a 59-year-old resident of one of the villages in Nizhyn district was injured and taken to Chernihiv Regional Hospital. The attack damaged a residential building, critical infrastructure, and local businesses.
According to the Head of the Regional Administration, over the course of the day, the enemy shelled the Chernihiv region 42 times, with 81 explosions recorded.
Twenty settlements came under fire. In the Novhorod-Siverskyi district, farm buildings caught fire, and in several districts, dry grass burned across nearly 10 hectares. All fires were extinguished.

Shelling of Ukraine
On the night of September 15, the Russians launched three S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles and 84 drones of various types against Ukraine from five directions. Air defense shot down most of the targets, but strikes were recorded.
In particular, that night, the enemy attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region with kamikaze drones. Strikes were recorded in the Yuriyivka community of the Pavlohrad district. A large-scale fire broke out there, seriously damaging a transport enterprise.
Russia also struck an agricultural enterprise in the Sumy region. Around 30 units of equipment were damaged, and 12 workers harvesting crops were injured.
Eleven men were hospitalized, one of them in serious condition.
