Russian forces attacked energy facilities in four regions of Ukraine overnight. Emergency repair work has already begun, according to the Ministry of Energy.

“The enemy struck energy facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, and Donetsk regions. Emergency repair work is ongoing, and energy workers are working around the clock to restore the power supply as quickly as possible,” the Energy Ministry said.

Due to the difficult situation in the power system caused by extensive attack and damage to energy infrastructure facilities, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Kyiv time) power limitation schedules for industrial consumers are being applied in all regions of Ukraine.

Emergency power restrictions have also been introduced in several regions. In the Chernihiv region, hourly power outage schedules are in effect after systematic enemy attacks on the region’s energy infrastructure.

“We urge consumers to use electricity rationally throughout the day, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening. This helps reduce the load on the system,” the Energy Ministry added.

Power outages in Ukraine

Due to damage to the power system resulting from numerous Russian strikes, this morning, October 17, emergency power outages were introduced in several regions, including the Kyiv, Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad regions. Later, energy workers canceled emergency outages in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

Yesterday evening, Ukrenergo ordered emergency power outages across the entire territory of Ukraine.
