Russia strikes Donetsk energy infrastructure: Region without power, trains halted

As a result of morning shelling, Donetsk region has been left without electricity after Russian forces targeted the area's energy infrastructure, according to a statement from Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.
Filashkin explained that the region was left without power due to enemy attacks.
"Early this morning, the Russians once again carried out targeted strikes on our energy infrastructure," he said.
According to Filashkin, specialists have already begun repairs and are doing everything possible to restore electricity as quickly as possible. However, the full extent of the damage and the timeline for restoration are still being determined.
"In the meantime, Points of Invincibility are operating in the region, providing heat, electricity, and internet. I will provide further updates as they become available," he added.
Changes to train services
The loss of power in the contact network of Donetsk region has also affected suburban train schedules.
The following services will temporarily not run today:
- №6602 Sloviansk – Raigorodok
- №6603 Raigorodok – Sloviansk
- №6705 Sloviansk – Kramatorsk
- №6706 Kramatorsk – Sloviansk
Reserve diesel locomotives are being prepared for the following routes:
- №6809 Bliuzhnyky – Sloviansk
- №6711 Yazykove – Sloviansk
- №6811 Sloviansk – Kramatorsk
- №6812 Kramatorsk – Lozova
Trains are running with delays, but specialists are working to restore schedules. Passengers are advised to carefully listen to announcements at stations.

- Train №6809 Bliuzhnyky – Sloviansk departed 2 hours late from Dubove station
Attack on energy infrastructure on October 10
Recall that on the night of October 10, Russian forces carried out a massive strike on Ukraine’s energy facilities.
As a result of the attack, power outages were reported in the following regions:
- Kyiv,
- Zaporizhzhia,
- Donetsk,
- Chernihiv,
- Cherkasy,
- Kharkiv,
- Sumy,
- Poltava,
- Odesa,
- Dnipropetrovsk.
The attack on Kyiv left the left bank of the city without electricity and water. Units from DTEK, NEC Ukrenergo, Kyivteploenergo, and other services promptly deployed an operational headquarters to restore the infrastructure.
At the same time, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned that, according to forecasts, Russian forces may carry out another strike on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the coming days.
Late on October 10, it was reported that electricity had been restored on the left bank of Kyiv following the massive Russian attack.
