Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine as of Tuesday, October 24, amounted to 810 occupiers, bringing the total number of casualties in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion to 295,510 military personnel. Additionally, Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 12 tanks, 16 armored vehicles, and 28 drones, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The overall Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022 to October 24, 2023 are estimated as follows:

  • Personnel – approximately 295,510 (+810) individuals eliminated.
  • Tanks – 5,105 (+12) units.
  • Armored fighting vehicles – 9,669 (+16) units.
  • Artillery systems – 7,081 (+24) units.
  • Multiple launch rocket systems – 828 (+3) units.
  • Anti-aircraft defense systems – 552 (+1) units.
  • Aircraft – 320 units.
  • Helicopters – 324 units.
  • UAV operational-tactical level – 5,363 (+18) units.
  • Cruise missiles – 1,537 (+1) units.
  • Warships / boats – 20 units.
  • Submarines – 1 unit.
  • Vehicles and fuel tankers – 9,447 (+28) units.
  • Special equipment – 1,006 (+8) units.

Frontline situation

According to the General Staff, on the Avdiivka sector, over 10 enemy attacks have been repelled. Ukrainian defense forces in the Kherson sector are engaged in counter-battery warfare and advancing on the Melitopol sector. In particular, according to the Institute for the Study of War, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have made progress north-east of Klechyivka, moving forward south of Bakhmut. Ukrainian attacks have compelled Russian forces to abandon some positions near Novodonetsk.
