New counts signal intense fighting continues

Ukraine's General Staff updates the number of Russian daily losses in manpower and military equipment. Russia lost specifically 920 of its soldiers in the past day.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to May 11, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel — nearly 1,342,030 (+920);
- Tanks — 11,924 (+4);
- Armored combat vehicles — 24,551 (+7);
- Artillery systems — 41,863 (+76);
- Multiple-launch rocket systems — 1,783 (+1);
- Air defense systems — 1,373;
- Aircraft — 435;
- Helicopters — 352;
- Ground robotic complex - 1,371 (+9);
- Operational-tactical UAVs — 284,254 (+1,557);
- Cruise missiles — 4,585;
- Ships/boats — 33;
- Submarines — 2;
- Automotive equipment and fuel tanks — 95,710 (+231);
- Special equipment — 4,178 (+2).

Frontline situation
According to the ISW report, Russian forces have failed to achieve any significant operational breakthrough on the front line over the past year, while Ukrainian Defense Forces expanded their battlefield gains during the winter and spring of 2026.
On May 10 overnight, Russia attacked Ukraine with 27 strike drones from two directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down all hostile drones.
