Ukrainian Armed Forces have eliminated another 1,120 Russian occupiers in the span of 24 hours, bringing the total casualties of the enemy army since the onset of the large-scale invasion to approximately 469,840 soldiers. Additionally, Ukrainian troops destroyed 5 Russian tanks and 13 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The overall Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022 to May 1, 2024 are estimated as follows:

  • Personnel: approximately 469,840 (+1,120) individuals eliminated;
  • Tanks: 7,312 (+5) units;
  • APV (Armored personnel vehicles): 14,067 (+21) units;
  • Artillery systems: 12,024 (+13) units;
  • MLRS (Multiple launch rocket systems): 1,053 units;
  • Anti aircraft warfare systems: 780 (+1) units;
  • Aircraft: 348 units;
  • Helicopters: 325 units;
  • UAV operational-tactical level: 9,538 (+7) units;
  • Cruise missiles: 2,124 units;
  • Warships/boats: 26 units;
  • Submarines: 1 unit;
  • Vehicles and fuel tankers: 16,175 (+33) units;
  • Special equipment: 1,980 (+3) units.

Frontline situation

Earlier in the morning briefing on May 1, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that there were 122 combat engagements on the frontlines during the past day.

Military command also added that Ukrainian aviation struck 12 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated. Furthermore, 2 reconnaissance UAVs of the enemy were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense systems. Missile units of the Defense Forces struck 1 area of enemy personnel concentration and 1 Russian anti-aircraft missile system.
