Over the past day, from February 28 to March 1, the aggressor country's forces lost 1,050 soldiers, a multiple launch rocket system, and 15 armored fighting vehicles in the war against Ukraine, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to March 1, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 874,610 (+1,050) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10,233 (+11);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 21,249 (+15);
  • artillery systems - 23,908 (+61);
  • MLRS - 1,304 (+1);
  • air defense systems - 1,088 (+1);
  • aircraft - 370;
  • helicopters - 331;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 27,402 (+128);
  • cruise missiles - 3,085;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 39,101 (+107);
  • special equipment - 3,763.

Situation on the front line and Russian drone attack

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian forces have made gains in Donetsk region and the western part of Zaporizhzhia region.

On the evening of the previous day and overnight into March 1, Russian terrorists once again attacked Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones.

Explosions were heard in Kyiv during the UAV attack.

As a result of the attack on Kharkiv, a medical facility was damaged, and in Odesa district, one person was killed by a drone strike.
