Russia's losses in Ukraine as of January 18: +1,340 troops and 21 artillery systems
Over the past day, from January 17 to 18, Russia lost 1,340 soldiers on the frontline. Additionally, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 13 armored fighting vehicles, 21 artillery systems, and 69 units of automotive equipment, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to January 18, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 817 160 (+1340) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 9803;
- armored personnel vehicle - 20 394 (+13);
- artillery systems - 22 040 (+21);
- MLRS - 1,262;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,046;
- aircraft - 369;
- helicopters - 331;
- UAV operational-tactical level- 22 579 (+13);
- cruise missiles - 3,049;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 34 325 (+69);
- special equipment - 3699.
As of the evening of January 18, a total of 155 combat engagements had taken place on the frontline since the start of the day. The Pokrovsk direction remained the most intense, where the enemy attempted to attack the positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces 64 times over the previous day. By that time, 49 assaults had been repelled in the area, while 15 were still ongoing.
