Situation on the front

It should be noted that Kupiansk and Pokrovsk remain under the control of the Defense Forces despite false claims by Russian propaganda that the Russian Armed Forces have allegedly already occupied these cities.

As is known, Russia’s strategic goals are precisely Kupiansk and Pokrovsk. The Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin himself has also claimed their "capture."

The General Staff of Ukraine has refuted this information — recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally visited Kupiansk following a successful operation by Ukrainian defenders in the city.

At the same time, Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council suggested why Russians are talking about the occupation of Kupiansk and Pokrovsk. The reason is that Russia’s military leadership fears losing their positions over defeats, which is why they repeatedly resort to spreading these false claims.

However, despite the Defense Forces holding these cities, Zelenskyy acknowledged that the situation on the front is difficult and that the number of Russian troops is growing. At the same time, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has classified statistics on unauthorized absences from service.
