Russia's losses in Ukraine as of December 29: +1,730 troops and 42 artillery systems

Over the past day, from December 28 to 29, the Russian army lost 1,730 soldiers on the front lines. Since the start of the full-scale war, Russia's total losses amount to 785,930 military personnel, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to December 29, 2024, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 785,930 (+1,730) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 9,656 (+5);
- armored personnel vehicle - 19,981 (+11);
- artillery systems - 21,450 (+42);
- MLRS - 1,256;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,032;
- airplanes - 369;
- helicopters - 329;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 21,038 (+25);
- cruise missiles - 3,003;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 32,410 (+82);
- special equipment - 3,670 (+2).
As of the evening of December 28, a total of 149 combat engagements had occurred on the front lines since the start of the day, with a third of them concentrated in the Pokrovsk direction.
Additionally, the enemy carried out nearly 3,800 shelling attacks targeting Ukrainian positions and civilian settlements.
