Russia's losses in Ukraine as of December 23: +1,990 troops, 6 tanks and 29 artillery systems
Over the past day, from December 22 to 23, the Russian army lost 1,990 soldiers, 55 drones, and 67 military vehicles in the war against Ukraine, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to December 23, 2024, were approximately:
- personnel - about 776,090 (+1,990) personnel eliminated;
- tanks - 9,615 (+6) units;
- armored personnel vehicles - 19,885 (+15) units;
- artillery systems - 21,313 (+29) units;
- MLRS - 1,256 units;
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,030 units;
- aircraft - 369 units;
- helicopters - 329 units;
- UAVs operational-tactical level - 20,790 (+55) units;
- cruise missiles - 2,948 (+1) units;
- warships/boats - 28 units;
- submarines - 1 unit;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 32,039 (+67) units;
- special equipment - 3,664 (+2) units.
Situation on frontline and Russian shelling
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukraine's Defense Forces regained lost positions in one of the areas in the Zaporizhzhia region. However, the Russian army continues to launch effective attacks in four directions along the frontline.
On the evening of December 22, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones. It was only around 6:00 a.m. Kyiv time that all enemy targets of this large-scale attack were successfully destroyed.
Over the past day, more than 200 combat clashes occurred on the front, during which the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated over 400 Russian soldiers.
