Russia's losses in Ukraine as of April 16: +1,100 troops and 1,356 drones

Russia lost around 1,100 troops over the past day, bringing its total losses to 1,315,070, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. They added that dozens of armored vehicles, artillery systems, and drones were also destroyed.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to April 16, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel — nearly 1,315,070 (+1,100);
- Tanks — 11,866 (+2);
- Armored combat vehicles — 24,391 (+1);
- Artillery systems — 40,046 (+43);
- Multiple-launch rocket systems — 1,738 (+2);
- Air defense systems — 1,347 (+1);
- Aircraft — 435;
- Helicopters — 350;
- Operational-tactical UAVs — 240,598 (+1,357);
- Cruise missiles — 4,537 (+20);
- Ships/boats — 33;
- Submarines — 2;
- Automotive equipment and fuel tanks — 89,761 (+208);
- Special equipment — 4,126 (+1).

Frontline situation
ATESH partisans sabotaged a key Russian communications site in the Sverdlovsk region, disrupting military logistics and command systems. The attack affected the coordination of reserves and supplies toward the Pokrovsk direction, creating failures in rear operations and troop deployments.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces carried out a series of strikes on April 14–15 targeting Russian military infrastructure, including S-400 radar systems, ammunition and drone depots, and fuel storage facilities in occupied territories.
The attacks also hit concentrations of Russian personnel across multiple regions, including Kursk and southern Ukraine. Damage and casualties are still being assessed, as Ukraine continues efforts to weaken Russia's military capabilities.
