Russia's losses in Ukraine as of April 16: 920 troops and 9 tanks
Ukrainian defenders eliminated another 920 Russian invaders in the past day, bringing the total losses of the enemy army in personnel since the start of the full-scale invasion to approximately 455,340 soldiers, according to the morning briefing of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on April 16.
The overall Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022 to April 16, 2024 are estimated as follows:
- Personnel - approximately 455,340 (+920) individuals eliminated;
- Tanks - 7,189 (+9) units;
- APV (Armored personnel vehicles) - 13,809 (+13) units;
- Artillery systems - 11,609 (+16) units;
- MLRS (Multiple launch rocket systems) - 1,046 units;
- Anti aircraft warfare systems - 759 (+1) units;
- Aircraft - 347 units;
- Helicopters - 325 units;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 9,277 (+11) units;
- Cruise missiles - 2,092 units;
- Warships/boats - 26 units;
- Submarines - 1 unit;
- Vehicles and fuel tankers - 15,563 (+53) units;
- Special equipment - 1,908 units.
Frontline situation
In the morning briefing today, April 16, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that there were 104 combat engagements on the frontlines in Ukraine during the past day.
Military command said that the highest number of enemy assaults was recorded in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions. Specifically, Defense Forces on the Bakhmut direction repelled 33 Russian attacks, while on the Novopavlivka direction, occupiers attempted to breach the Ukrainian defenders' lines 30 times.
