Russia prepares new assaults in two directions of Zaporizhzhia region - Ukrainian military

Russian troops continue their offensive to seize Ukrainian territory. In particular, the enemy is preparing new assaults on the Orikhiv and Robotyne directions of the Zaporizhzhia region, states Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
“According to intelligence, the enemy is preparing new assault operations near Orikhiv and Robotyne, the enemy is deploying personnel there and is likely to intensify new assaults in a few days,” the military said.
He noted that if the enemy manages to make a breakthrough in this area, Russian troops will be able to take fire control of the logistics routes that run from Zaporizhzhia to eastern Ukraine, where the Defense Forces hold the Donetsk region and the southern part of Zaporizhzhia region.
Voloshyn also added that over the past day, the enemy fired 400 times at populated areas in Zaporizhzhia region alone. About 300 more were in the positions of Ukrainian troops.
As of 16:00 on October 5, 67 combat engagements took place at the front since the beginning of the day. Almost half of them took place in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors.
