Russia moves drone units from Kursk to Donetsk frontline

Russia has transferred drone units from the Kursk region to the Toretsk area in Donetsk. These units are currently operating towards the town of Kostiantynivka, according to a report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to analysts, referencing a source linked to Ukrainian military intelligence, Russian forces have relocated unspecified drone units from the Kursk direction to an area southwest of Toretsk, near Kalynove.
ISW reports that these Russian units are now operating towards the city of Kostiantynivka.
Analysts suggest that Russia may focus on offensives towards Kostiantynivka in the spring and summer.
"This is the first time that ISW has observed reports of Russian redeployments from Kursk Oblast, and this report is consistent with ISW's assessment that Russian forces may prioritize offensive operations in the Kostyantynivka direction in Spring and Summer 2025," the report states.
