Russia loses thousands of soldiers missing in action in fighting for Toretsk, Ukrainian military

In the battles for Toretsk, the Russians have lost thousands of soldiers, with the number of those missing in action alone exceeding 13,000, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Dmytro Zaporozhets, Spokesperson for the Luhansk Operational-Tactical Group of Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Zaporozhets stated that the core of the enemy’s forces in the Toretsk direction consists of the 51st Russian Army. According to intelligence, during the intense offensive operation, the enemy suffered significant losses, particularly in Toretsk and the surrounding area.
During this period, approximately 13,500 Russian soldiers have been recorded as missing in action.
"These are potentially killed soldiers that were lost in this direction," the spokesman for the Luhansk Operational-Tactical Group emphasized.
Situation around Toretsk
Earlier, the Azov fighters captured 20 Russian soldiers during a special operation in the Toretsk direction. Most of the occupiers were killed after unsuccessful assaults, while these soldiers surrendered voluntarily to avoid death and secure a chance for exchange.
In addition, in recent days, Ukrainian forces have prevented another Russian attempt to gain a foothold on the outskirts of Toretsk. During combat, Ukrainian troops identified and eliminated an enemy assault group, forcing one Russian soldier to flee.
At the same time, in this direction, Ukrainian fighters destroyed a Russian workshop used for repairing military equipment.
The operation was carried out based on reconnaissance data and precise strikes on enemy positions. Several pieces of equipment were also destroyed, and enemy personnel were eliminated.
