Russia launches over 30 drones in Ukraine: number of targets downed by air defense
Russian occupation forces attacked Ukraine with Shahed attack drones tonight, December 21. Air defense forces destroyed over 30 enemy targets, report the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Russian military fired 35 Shahed-136/131 drones into Ukraine, attacking from three directions: Chauda - occupied Crimea, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk - Russia. It is noted that the drone attack took place in waves at different times between 20:00 on December 20 and 03:30 on December 21.
"Last night, in different directions, the defenders of the sky managed to shoot down 34 of the 35 enemy attack UAVs launched," the Air Force said in a statement.
Air defense was deployed in Kyiv, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Poltava, Chernihiv and Kirovohrad regions.
Tactical aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
Russian drone attacks
Russians regularly try to strike Ukraine with the help of Shahed kamikaze drones.
On the evening of December 20, the occupiers again launched attack drones at Ukraine. According to the military, several groups of enemy UAVs entered from the south.
Air defense forces destroyed two Shaheds in Sumy and Dnipro regions.
Drones also attacked the Kyiv region, and air defense forces were reported to be working.
