Russia launched over 70 Shaheds across Ukraine overnight – Zelenskyy
In the early hours of September 14, the occupiers attacked Ukraine with drones. Russia launched more than 70 Shaheds, informed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.
"Last night, the enemy launched over 70 Shaheds across Ukraine. Thanks to the efforts of our defenders, most were intercepted," he wrote.
Zelenskyy thanked the army aviation, mobile fire groups, and air defense units who protected Ukrainians throughout the night in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions.
"We need more capabilities to strengthen our air shield, air defense, and long-range capabilities to continue protecting lives and our people. We are working on this with all of Ukraine’s partners," he noted.
Russian attack on Ukraine
Around 1:40 AM, an air raid alert was issued in Kyiv and some regions of Ukraine due to the threat of Russian kamikaze drones.
Later, around 2:30 AM, reports emerged of drone debris falling in the Obolon district of Kyiv. Despite this, air defense operations continued on the approaches to Kyiv. There were also explosions in Kyiv and Odesa as air defense systems were active in the south.
