Russia launched over 140 drones, 2 ballistic missiles at Ukraine overnight

On the night of February 16, Russia launched 143 drones and two ballistic missiles at Ukraine. The air defense system shot down most of the drones, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“On the night of February 16, the enemy attacked with 143 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of imitation drones,” the report says.
The Russians launched UAVs from the directions of Oryol, Bryansk, and Shatalovo.
The Russians also attacked the Odesa region with two ballistic missiles from the occupied Crimea.
How the air defense operated
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces.
“As of 9 a.m., 95 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones have been confirmed downed,” the Air Force said.
The air defense system was operating in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipro, and Mykolaiv regions.
In addition, 46 imitator drones were lost in the area.
Russia's attack on Ukraine
Russian troops again massively shelled Ukraine with drones on the night of February 16. They also used ballistics to attack the Odesa region.
The Russians massively attacked Mykolaiv. There was damage to a critical infrastructure facility and a wounded.
The consequences of the Russian attack were also eliminated in the Kyiv region. As a result of the night strikes, private houses were damaged and a fire broke out. A warehouse at a production facility in the Boryspil district caught fire.
