Russia launched 60 Shahed drones at Ukraine in a day
Russian military attacked Ukraine with 60 strike drones in a day. Ukrainian forces shot down more than half of them, according to the Air Force.
From 10:00 a.m. on December 23 to 9:00 a.m. on December 24, 2024, Russia launched 60 strike drones, including Shahed drones and others, from directions such as Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
The aerial assault was countered by anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and Ukraine's Defense Forces.
As of 10:00 a.m., 36 strike drones, including Shahed drones and others, were confirmed to have been shot down over the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
Due to the countermeasures of the Defense Forces, 23 Russian decoy drones lost their locations.
Shahed drone attacks
Yesterday evening, December 23, the Russian army again launched several groups of kamikaze drones towards Ukraine during another air raid.
Air raid alerts were declared in several regions. As of now, the Russian strike drones have been spotted over Ukraine's left bank and parts of the regions on the right bank of the Dnipro River.
