Russia is waging hybrid war against Europe, Polish MFA warns over Leipzig sabotage

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski believes Russia is already waging a hybrid war against European countries, so it must be met with a response before it is too late, reports RMF24.
The Polish foreign policy chief commented on the attack by Russian drones on a Ukrainian aircraft at Leipzig Airport. Against this backdrop, he expressed support for both Ukraine and Germany.
According to Sikorski, the current situation can already hardly be called ordinary peacetime.
"We do not seek a conflict with Russia, but it seems that Russia is waging a hybrid war against us - and we need to demonstrate to Putin that we cannot be intimidated," the Polish foreign minister explained.
Against the backdrop of recent events, Sikorski called on allies to maximize sanctions pressure on Russia.
He said a proposal is already ready to add about 1,620 individuals and legal entities to the sanctions lists.
The problem is that its adoption will require the political will of European leaders.
"We must adopt that in response to Putin's attacks in Germany and other countries," Sikorski urged.
The Polish foreign policy chief also proposes strengthening restrictions on Russian diplomats and intelligence officers in Europe.
The Polish foreign minister believes it is worth considering:
- Closing Russian consulates;
- Restricting the movement of Russian diplomats outside the country of accreditation;
- Reducing the size of Russia's diplomatic corps.
Earlier, Germany publicly accused Russia of attacking a Ukrainian aircraft at Leipzig Airport.
Berlin immediately revealed its response to Moscow's new crime.
Germany also promised that Ukraine would receive missiles and thousands of drones to deter Russia.
