Russia continues to evacuate weapons, equipment, and personnel from Syria using military transport aircraft, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence reports.
According to Ukraine's spy agency, Russian military columns continued to move from deep inside Syria toward bases in Khmeimim and Tartus on December 15. The enemy is still hoping to maintain control over these bases.
Russian military transport planes have continued their flights from Syria to airfields in Russia, including Makhachkala, Chkalovsk, and Nizhny Novgorod.
"To remove weapons, military equipment, and personnel, Russia deployed an Il-76MD from the 196th Military Transport Aviation Regiment, two Il-76MDs from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, and two An-124-100s from the 224th Flight Squadron, which belongs to the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor state," Ukraine's Defense Intelligence added.
