Russia complains about massive drone attack on Rostov
In Rostov-on-Don (Russian Federation), explosions were heard overnight into July 5th, amid operations of air defense systems due to drone attacks. Fires broke out from falling debris, according to Vasily Golubev, the governor of the Rostov region and local Telegram channels.
Around three o'clock in the morning, officials reported the operation of air defense systems near Rostov.
"In the vicinity of Rostov, air defense units are engaging multiple airborne targets of the enemy," stated the governor in his Telegram message.
The governor added that information regarding the aftermath is being clarified.
Meanwhile, local social media channels have published footage purportedly showing the moment of one drone being downed over Rostov. The videos also capture explosions, a fire, and the movement of emergency services to the scene of the incident on the Left Bank of the city.
It is also reported online that at least 12 drones were allegedly shot down on approach to Rostov. Rostov media sources claim all drones have been neutralized, labeling this drone raid as massive and the most intense attack in history.

Later, the governor of the Rostov region reported the downing of 10 drones in the region overnight.
"According to operational services, as a result of an air attack and the falling debris of UAVs, landscape fires were recorded on the left bank of the Don River in Rostov and in the Azov district," the Russian official stated.
He mentioned that there is no information about casualties.
Meanwhile, local public sources report that allegedly an oil terminal is on fire, but there are no official confirmations of this information.
Drone attack on Russia on July 5
It was previously reported that drone strikes were in the vicinity of the Russian town of Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Krasnodar Krai on the night of July 5th. From this area, the Russian Federation often launch kamikaze drones into Ukrainian territory during air attacks.
The local governor confirmed debris from the drone's falling, with reports of damage to civilian objects within the city and several casualties reported.
