On the night of April 5, Russians attempted a drone attack on Kyiv - fire was reported in one district, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration and the Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko.

An air raid alert was declared in the capital at 01:28 AM Kyiv time due to the threat of drone strikes. Nearly an hour later, preliminary reports indicated that drone debris had fallen in the Desnianskyi district near the city limits. As it turned out, the debris caused a fire at the site.

"Updated as of 03:10: As a result of falling debris from a downed drone in the Desnianskyi district, a fire was recorded. Firefighters are working on site. The extinguishing efforts have been completed. The fire has been put out. There is no information about any casualties," the Kyiv City Military Administration reported.

Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko had written that drone debris also landed in the Dniprovskyi district of the capital. He said emergency services were en route to the scene, but no details about the consequences have been reported so far.

Russia's attack on Kyiv and Kyiv region

On the night of April 4, Russia launched 11 drones at Kyiv. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down five of them. There were no casualties or damage in the capital.

It was also reported that Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region that same night. There was damage, and some people were injured.
