At night and on the morning of December 31, Russian forces launched 13 missiles at Shostka, Sumy region. Due to enemy attacks, significant damage was caused to the city's infrastructure, RBC-Ukraine, citing Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh.

According to Artiukh, the first attack was carried out at 3 a.m. Kyiv time, when four missiles were launched at the city. Russian forces fired the next nine missiles at 8 a.m. Kyiv time. The shellings caused significant damage to the infrastructure in Shostka, including three boiler rooms.

"Today, 45 houses are without heating, as well as two schools and other facilities, where inspections are currently being conducted. Assistance is being provided to resolve the situation. Crews are working to restore heat supply," Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration added.

On the morning of December 31, Russian terrorists launched another massive attack on Ukraine. During the repulsion of the airstrike, explosions sounded in Kyiv and Shostka.

Later, Shostka's mayor, Mykola Noha, reported that due to the enemy's shelling, several infrastructure facilities were destroyed, and the following were damaged:

  • 12 multi-story residential buildings;
  • 2 educational institutions;
  • Other social sector facilities.
