Russia attacked Ukraine with nearly 150 drones overnight: How many were shot down

On the night of October 8, the Russians launched 142 drones at Ukraine, some of which were jet-powered, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Starting at 6:00 p.m. (Kyiv time) on October 7, the enemy deployed 142 attack drones. These included Shahed drones, 82 of which were jet-powered, as well as Gerbera drones and Parodiya decoy drones.
According to preliminary data, as of 9:30 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 126 enemy drones.
Enemy airstrikes were recorded at 7 locations. Debris from downed drones fell at 4 additional locations.
The drones were flying from the directions of Oryol, Kursk, and Shatalovo in Russia, as well as from the temporarily occupied cities of Donetsk and Hvardiiske in Crimea.
The attack is ongoing. Several more enemy drones remain in the airspace. Ukrainians are urged to follow safety guidelines.
The Russians struck a 12-story building in Kyiv’s Desnianskyi district with a drone, causing a fire to break out.
Four people were injured, including two children, and rescue workers saved 22 people.
A missile strike on Pryluky claimed the lives of 22 people, including five children.
Another 54 people were injured, and rescue workers continue to clear the rubble.
