Russia attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles: 20 targets shot down by air defense
The Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones and Iskander-K and X-59 missiles tonight, December 17. Air defense forces destroyed more than 20 enemy targets, reports the press service of the Air Force.
Russian occupation forces fired an Iskander-K cruise missile and an X-59 guided missile at Ukraine from the areas of the temporarily occupied Crimea and Kherson region. The Russians also launched 20 Shahed-type attack drones from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Chauda (Crimea).
"As a result of combat operations, 20 Shaheds and one X-59 guided missile were shot down. The Iskander-K cruise missile did not reach its target," the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement.
It is noted that the air targets were destroyed within Odesa, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
Attack on Ukraine at night on December 17
Last night, on December 17, air raid alerts sounded in several regions of Ukraine. Military officials warned of drone flights and a missile threat.
In particular, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the flight of a guided missile in the direction of Kropyvnytskyi. Explosions were heard in the city.
Explosions were also heard in Odesa. The military reported the flight of attack drones from the Black Sea.
