The electric Renault 4 has received an all-wheel-drive version. The new model is called the Renault 4 Savane 4×4 and is currently presented as a concept. Unlike the standard hatchback, the AWD R4 features a dual-motor powertrain, a wider track, and increased ground clearance.
With the Renault 4 Savane 4×4 concept, the French automaker showcases the potential of the AmpR Small platform. The hatchback has been equipped with a second electric motor, a widened track, and raised by 15 millimeters above the ground.
The all-wheel drive doesn’t turn the car into an off-roader. But neither were its predecessors - the Renault Colorale Savane and the original R4 Savane. Still, the name itself is associated with classic Renault models.
The concept car is painted in a new green shade called Jade Green, and its roof is adorned with fabric featuring a pixelated pattern. The standard bumper stops are replaced with new ones, 3D-printed to provide cushioning properties. The interior is finished with thermoplastic polymer textile. Final touches include embroidery of the number “4” and a houndstooth pattern on the seat backs.
