Poland deploys air force amid massive Russian attack on Ukraine
Russia is launching a massive attack on Ukraine on December 13. In response, Poland has deployed its air force, the Operational Command of Poland reports.
"Attention: Due to another attack by the Russian Federation involving strikes with cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles on targets located, among other places, in western Ukraine, military aviation operations have commenced in our airspace," the statement says.
According to established procedures, the Operational Command has deployed all available resources, used pairs of fighter jets, and placed ground-based air defense systems and radar intelligence units in the highest state of readiness.
"These measures are aimed at ensuring security in areas bordering the regions under threat. The Operational Command is monitoring the current situation, and subordinate forces and assets are fully prepared for immediate response," Polish military officials noted.
Massive Russian attack on Ukraine
Russian forces are actively attacking Ukraine at this moment. A new wave of strikes follows the launch of drones on Ukraine overnight. Notably, prior to this, Russian forces had taken a brief pause in their drone attacks.
Currently, it is known that the Russian troops have launched ballistic missiles from Crimea, explosions are being reported in Odesa, and Russia is also targeting western regions of Ukraine. In the Kyiv region, air defense systems are actively engaged.
