"This will be the 21st Contact Group meeting since the first session exactly two years ago," he said.
Ramstein format
The Ramstein format, also known as the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine, is a series of international meetings of defense ministers from over 50 countries aimed at:
- Synchronizing and accelerating the provision of military assistance to Ukraine to counter Russian aggression. This includes supplying weapons, ammunition, equipment, and other military gear.
- Discussing issues of long-term support for Ukraine, including its defense capabilities after the end of the war.
- Facilitating coordination of efforts among the international community to support Ukraine.
The first meeting in the Ramstein format took place on April 26, 2022, at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Meetings are held monthly.
