Norwegian Ministry of Defense establishes position of military attaché in Kyiv
The Norwegian Ministry of Defense has established a military attaché post in Kyiv. This may become relevant for Norwegian companies to establish production in Ukraine, states Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.
The new official at the embassy in Ukraine will be responsible for communication and cooperation between Norwegian and Ukrainian academia and industry in the field of defense innovation and industrial development.
“Significant investment and private sector involvement is needed to meet Ukraine's enormous needs. Norwegian companies want to share their knowledge, experience, and solutions both in the short and long term. The Ukrainian side is also asking for this,” the minister said.
Gram also emphasized that in the long run, Norwegian companies may be interested in setting up production in Ukraine.
Last month it was reported that the Norwegian government is considering building a fence on the border with Russia. It should help if there is an influx of refugees from Russia.
Moreover, we reported that Norway has allocated almost €9 million for the evacuation and treatment of Ukrainians in Europe.
