US imposes new sanctions on Russian tankers. These restrictions may affect oil supplies to India, Reuters reports.
Oil refining industry sources said that US sanctions against Russian tankers would affect oil supplies to India.
According to three anonymous Indian sources, refiners expect serious disruptions due to new restrictions aimed at reducing Moscow's revenues. They are forcing India to look for alternative sources of crude oil from the Middle East and the United States.
The sources say that the sanctions will affect more than 180 tankers carrying Russian oil, as well as Russian marine insurance providers such as Ingosstrakh and AlfaStrakhovanie.
We reported recently the United States planned to impose additional sanctions against Russia and reduce its revenues for the war in Ukraine. Tankers carrying Russian oil will be targeted.
China's largest ports have closed the entrance for tankers of Moscow's shadow fleet.
