New Spider-Man movie breaks box office record, surpassing Avengers: Endgame

The new movie starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man has already made box office history. Spider-Man: Brand New Day set an all-time record for preview screenings, surpassing even the legendary Avengers: Endgame, according to Variety.
A powerful start
The movie earned $72 million from preview screenings, including early-access showings. This is the highest figure ever recorded for this type of release.
The previous record belonged to Avengers: Endgame, which earned $60 million from previews in 2019. The movie later set a historic opening-weekend record, taking in $357 million in the United States and more than $1.2 billion worldwide.
Analysts predict that Spider-Man: Brand New Day could finish its opening weekend with $260 million to $280 million in North America. If those projections hold, the movie would post the second-biggest opening in history, behind only Avengers: Endgame. At the same time, some experts do not rule out the possibility that the film could surpass the $300 million mark.
International markets are expected to contribute another $275 million to $300 million, although early estimates could also prove too conservative.
What Tom Holland's new movie is about
The events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day take place four years after the finale of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Following Doctor Strange's spell, the entire world forgot that Peter Parker is Spider-Man.
The hero is left alone, as neither MJ, played by Zendaya, nor his best friend Ned remembers him. At the same time, he is set to face a new mysterious female villain, played by Sadie Sink.
Tom Holland once again stars in the lead role. The new movie is expected to become one of the year's most successful theatrical releases and has a strong chance of setting new worldwide box office records.
