New German Chancellor says US and Russia come together over Ukraine’s head

The leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Friedrich Merz, who won the Bundestag elections according to exit polls, stated that, in his opinion, the US and Russia are coming together. Moreover, the countries are doing this over Ukraine’s head, which means over Europe’s head as well, Merz says on his official X account.
"My impression over the last few days is that Russia and America are coming together - over the heads of Ukraine and therefore also over the heads of Europe. That's why everyone is now looking at Germany," the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) noted.
Merz also emphasized that the question of how quickly the Germans can form a government is his priority.
Earlier, Friedrich Merz stated that he intends to form a government by April 20, that is, by Easter. The German politician also announced that he wants to start coalition formation talks no later than eight days from now.
