The right combination of foods is essential for nutrient absorption and overall health. There are certain foods that you shouldn't combine because they will harm your body, states Ukrainian nutritionist and health coach Kateryna Krupkina.

The main unhealthy combinations

Dairy products and meat

Combining these foods impairs the absorption of iron from meat, which can lead to a deficiency of this important micronutrient. If you want to maximize the benefits, it is better to eat them separately.

Alcohol and fatty or carbohydrate foods

"When we consume alcohol, the liver is busy detoxifying it rather than processing fats and carbohydrates," Krupkina explained.

This can lead to poor digestion, a feeling of heaviness, and even fat accumulation.

What is healthy to combine

There is also a successful combination of foods that promotes better absorption of nutrients:

Greens and liver

These foods help the body get more iron.

Vitamin D and K2

They support bone health. For example, vitamin D is found in cod liver, and K2 in cheeses.

Krupkina notes that understanding the right combinations of foods will help you avoid problems with nutrient absorption and improve your health.

"Just pay attention to how your body reacts to certain foods, and you'll quickly realize which combinations work best for you," the expert added.
