An unusual advertising installation has appeared in Los Angeles: a full-sized room has been built on one of the billboards, where a man actually lives. He never comes down to the ground. Instead, he occasionally approaches the window, waves to passersby, and leaves them messages.
A room nine meters above the ground
The billboard is located at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Selma Avenue in Hollywood. The room has been furnished like an ordinary living room: there is a sofa, bookshelves, houseplants, red curtains, and even an air conditioner. All of it is about nine meters above the ground.
Netflix has not revealed the name of the man who "lives" inside. He walks around the room wearing a robe and blue pajama pants, drinks coffee, watches passersby through binoculars, and occasionally looks out the window.
He can communicate with people below using a whiteboard. Various messages appear on it, including the phrase, "I'm stuck."
Next to the room is a sign that reads: "How long can you survive?"
The question is a direct reference to the plot of Netflix's new movie.
What is the movie about?
"The Last House" was released on Netflix on August 7. The story centers on a family of four who find themselves trapped inside their own home.
They cannot get outside, contact with the outside world gradually disappears, and unknown forces await them beyond the house. Meanwhile, their essential survival supplies are quickly running out.
Netflix's advertising campaign literally brings this idea into the real world: instead of a trailer, viewers got a man who appears to have found himself trapped — right in the middle of Hollywood.
