On Saturday, Hamas returned 3 hostages to Israel in an exhausted state. After the release, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would destroy the group and return all hostages held in Gaza, The Times of Israel reports.

"We have once again seen what the Hamas monsters are. They are the same monsters who slaughtered our citizens and abused our captives," Netanyahu said.

The prime minister said the government will do everything possible to return all remaining hostages, adding that he has instructed the Israeli negotiating team to demand their safety.

"But beyond that, President Trump agreed with me totally: we will do everything to return all the hostages, but Hamas won’t be there. We will eliminate Hamas, and return all our captives," the Israeli Prime Minister added.

On Tuesday, February 4, Benjamin Netanyahu met with US President Donald Trump in Washington, DC. The Israeli prime minister became the first foreign leader to meet with the newly elected US president after he officially took office.

Axios recently wrote that during a visit to Washington, DC, Netanyahu presented a plan for a ceasefire in the Gaza war that includes many conditions. First of all, he demanded that the group relinquish power in Gaza and that its leaders leave the region. According to the Israeli prime minister, there is no other way.
