Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet with US President Donald Trump next week, with the meeting expected to take place on July 7, according to Bloomberg.

“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to meet with President Donald Trump at the White House on July 7, according to Israeli and US officials, as the administration urges its ally to end the war in Gaza and secure the release of the remaining hostages held by Hamas,” the report states.

Earlier on Monday, the White House confirmed that it is working to finalize the date for the meeting.

It is also reported that Ron Dermer, Israel’s Minister of Strategic Affairs, has traveled to Washington for meetings with US officials in preparation for Netanyahu’s visit.

Bloomberg highlights several recent developments, including Trump’s praise for Netanyahu’s leadership during Israel’s 12-day conflict with Iran. Trump also criticized the ongoing legal proceedings against the Israeli Prime Minister, calling them a political witch hunt.

During this conflict, with Netanyahu’s backing, Trump authorized strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities on June 22. The US president later declared that the targets had been destroyed.

Last week, Trump said he believes a ceasefire in Gaza could be near, and that a deal might be possible within the next week.

He did not provide further details on how the agreement might unfold or specify who he had spoken with about ending the war that began with Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

A few days ago, Israel Hayom reported that Trump and Netanyahu likely agreed on a five-point plan to resolve the situation in the Middle East.
